Goddess Vibes Top from Journey Chanel Designs
I love this boho top so much! Sizes XS-5X are available. The designer specifies DK weight Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend with 250 – 1300 yards. Unfortunately, that yarn has been discontinued, but you could use Lion Brand Coboo as a great alternative! You will need an F/3.75mm hook and G/4.25mm hook. It is worked in one piece from the waist up.

The Poppy Crop Top from Nomad Stitches
Isn’t this such a cute top for Spring? The petal edge and the tie are so simple, yet so fun! For this top you will need a sport weight yarn with about 250 – 536 yards. Queensland Coastal Cotton Fine would be a good option! It is written for sizes XS – 3X. The designer recommends a G/4.00mm hook.

Sizes 30A through 50DD. This one is for all the girlies who wanted to be a mermaid when they were little! The pattern includes written instructions, charts, and photos.

The Sun Soaked Top by Janine Myska
This incredible top is REVERSIBLE! How cool is that?? It is written for sizes XS – 5X. The original yarn it used is no longer available, but it was a merino/alpaca/silk blend in a sport weight. A good substitute would be Knit Picks Gloss DK. This top pattern is beginner friendly.

The Juniper Top from Spirit and Thread Crochet
I love the ruffles on this one! With a worsted weight yarn and a G/4.00mm and an I/5.5mm hook you can create a fun top to dress up or down. She doesn’t specify which yarn she used, but I always like cotton for crop tops. Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton would be a good choice for this one.

The Nami Top by Crochet with Alanna
This classic chevron top is made to measure so it isn’t written for any particular size. The designer specifies a fingering weight cotton – I like Hobbii Rainbow cotton. The Top section in made in 2 panels and the sleeves are crocheted in the round. There is minimal sewing involved. Yay!

The Boho Crop Top by Hands of Zeal
Such a classic look! This pattern is only written for 2 sizes due to how loose-fitting it is, however the designer does mention how it would be easy to increase the size by adding extra row(s) to the squares. Although it is available as a paid pattern you can find a free YouTube tutorial here. She uses Circulo Duna, which is an excellent DK cotton.

The Captiva Crop Top by Murphy Made Crochet
Written for 9 different bust sizes, you are sure to find your size! You will need between 690 and 1796 yards of fingering weight yarn to complete this project. The suggested hook size is E/3.5mm. The top is made of a seamless top-down construction starting with the circular yoke. It is described as being for advanced beginners.

The Bailey 4-in-1 Unisex Polo by Moon Baileys Crochet
Okay, so while this is technically not limited to a crop top, I had to include it because you can make a matching one for your pet!! I mean, come on, it doesn’t get any cuter than that! You can make this a crop, an oversized sweater, a vest, the possibilities are endless! It calls for about 130 – 650 grams of sport or DK yarn and a 3mm hook.

The Wisteria Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
The Wisteria Top was the first design I ever saw from Krista and I was instantly “hooked”! Most of Krista’s designs use a worsted weight cotton yarn like a classic Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton, or Juniper Moon Cumulous for something a little fancier. This top needs between 300-800 yards, and is sized for XS – L, but includes instructions for customization. You will also need beads, and sizes G/4.00mm and H/5.00mm crochet hooks.

The Gaia Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
Are you a plant person? The Gaia Top is one of Krista’s newest designs and it has been very popular with her followers. My hometown has a garden festival a few times a year and I would love to wear this top to that festival! This top uses between 400-600 yards of a worsted weight yarn and sizes G/4.00mm and I/5.5mm crochet hooks.

The Athena Crop Top Corset by Spirit and Thread Crochet
Maybe you’re looking for something a little more slinky? The Athena Crop Top Corset is another newer design that is ultra sexy, yet still boho. The sizes are written for XS – L with lots of custom options to fit the top to any body. This pattern is recommended for an intermediate crocheter and uses between 150 – 500 yards of either DK or worsted weight yarn.

The Flora Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
The Flora Top is the epitome of Spring Time! This is another one of Krista’s designs that needs intermediate experience. You will also need an I/5.5mm hook, and between 400-700 yards of a worsted weight size 4 yarn. I could see this top fitting in perfectly at a renaissance fair! I would definitely use Lion Brand 24/7 cotton for this for the structure.

The Stella Crochet Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
The Stella Crochet Top will make you look like such a doll! The ruffle edge at the bottom and the picots along the neckline are so perfect! You will need between 400-1000 yards depending on size, and a G/4.00mm hook. This top would look amazing in a hand dyed yarn like Squishy Worsted by Swan-City Yarns.

The Leilah Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
The Leilah Top is so pretty! It also comes as a dress version if you are a dress lover like myself. This one also requires an intermediate skill level. I like this one because it would be good to use some scrap yarn. Sizes are XS – L, but instructions for up to DDD cups are included. You will need a G/4.00mm crochet hook to make this top.

The Khaleesi Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
The Khaleesi Top is named after a certain Game of Thrones character and is perfect for all your medieval dreams and cosplay events. I made one of these and it was an incredibly fun make! You will need 500-800 yards of a worsted weight size 4 yarn, and G/4.00mm and an I/5.5mm hook. The description says for an intermediate level, but I think it is more of an advanced beginner level.

The Sunflower Crop Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
This adorable crochet crop top is created by making 3-4 sunflower granny squares, sewing them together, and then adding the top section and border. I made one in each size for a craft show and 2 of them sold! Sunflowers are very popular right now and this top will help you jump on the trend! This top is very beginner friendly, and offers all the customization options for all sizes.

The Juniper Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
The Juniper Top is is a lacy, ruffle-y dream! This could be dressed up or down depending on mood! You will need 500-800 yards of a worsted weight yarn, and a G/4.00mm hook to make this top. This one is for an advanced beginner’s skill set.

The Ophelia Crochet Top by Spirit and Thread Crochet
The Ophelia Top is a classic crochet crop top without frills and ruffles for a clean and modern look. If you are looking for a simple and quick make, this one is for you! Again, Krista offered lots of sizing options and customization options. This top needs between 300-500 yards of a worsted weight cotton yarn. This top also uses a G/4.00mm hook.

The Shelly Butterfly Top from Shyler Crochets
The pattern is available for free on YouTube here. If you prefer to purchase a written pattern, you can find that here. The top is for sizes S – 2X. The designer used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton DK with an F/3.75mm hook. She also offers a dress version!

The Leila Tie Strap Crop Top by For The Frills
This top pattern is so dainty! The written instructions are available for free on the For the Frills Blog, or as a video tutorial on YouTube. The designer recommends using a cotton blend, maybe one like Lion Brand Coboo, to achieve a nice stretch. Comprised mostly of half double and double crochets, this one should work up well for a beginner!

Classic Bralette from TCDDIY
If you are looking more for a simple bralette than a crop top, the classic bralette from TCDDIY is the one for you! This top uses a small amount of worsted weight yarn. It would be a great project to use up some scrap yarn!

Boho Crochet Top from Crafty Mey
Using about 75 grams of yarn and an E/3.5mm hook, we can whip this bralette up in no time! I love the beads on this.

Sightseer Cropped Top by Lorene Haythorn Eppolite
This pattern is available for free on Cre8tion Crochet’s blog, or for purchase on Ravelry. The original worsted weight yarn is discontinued, but Red Heart Unforgettable would be perfect for this top. It is written for sizes XS – 5X and is a raglan top-down style.

Pineapple Lace Summer Halter Neck Top by Melissa Bjerregaard
Only one size, but adjustable. You need about 273 – 328 yards of a cotton DK, like Premier Cotton Sprout, and a G/4mm hook.

Crochet Crop Top and Skirt by Hey Carrie
This design is made to measure with a DK weight yarn such as Lion Brand Jeans. Using a G/4mm hook, front post double crochets are what creates this fun texture!

I’m totally in love with the edging on this top! This design uses a worsted weight yarn and an I/5.5mm hook. The yarn the designer chose was GarnStudios Drops.

Stacked Shells Crop Top by The Lavender Chair
